Happy 4th of July

Hello again! Just a quick note to tell you what has been going on lately. Alex is still down in Florida having a good time we hope. We miss you hoss! Reagan is sleeping in your bed when she and Blake aren't fighting or in trouble. Blake says he doesn't like sleeping alone so he misses you.

Our garbage disposal went belly up last week for some reason. It wasn't bound up so I took it out to take a look and figured the motor was dead. I was about out the door to Home Depot to buy another one, but Carrie had the sense to call the manufacturer to see if it was under warranty and it was-but only for about three more days! They came out and put a new one in for no charge but we couldn't use the dishwasher or sink for three days since everything was disconnected under the sink. Thank God for Chinet paper plates!

Blake and I were screwing around last week and planted a cantaloupe seed in an old pot of dirt on the deck and wouldn't you know it, the darn thing sprang up in like four days. So, I decided to make a last ditch effort to get the garden dug out and filled with good dirt (not this orange clay we have here). We planted his cantaloupe plant and put numerous other cantaloupe and cucumber seeds into the ground so we'll see what happens. Probably won't get any of these suckers to germinate when we actually try to. We also had some tomato plants that we grew from seeds back in April that are only six inches tall since they only get a few hours of sun in the afternoon through the back windows. I think it was just enough sun to keep them alive, but nothing more. Anyway, we put four of those in the ground and hope they get acclimated to July weather quickly. It is too late to be planting stuff and we aren't expecting much, but we'll see what happens.

We went swimming over at a friend's house yesterday and then stayed up to watch all the neighborhood fireworks. Fireworks are legal here so every holiday that comes around finds us tolerating the booming and the banging. Unfortunately, the celebration yesterday tends to last another week or two so poor Oscar will have to endure. It seems like the yankees that move down here are the ones most enamored with the fireworks. They are illegal up north from what we gather so once they relocate they feel the need to indulge their pyrotechnic cravings.

Reagan and Blake will play fall soccer once again and we look to split them up this year so Blake can play with kids his own age instead of being the youngest everytime.

I have to go now. Check back for more later.....
